PTFE Tape For Gas is a thread sealing tape designed for use in plumbing and heating applications where a reliable seal is required for gas pipes, conduits, valves, bolts, and threaded fittings. It ensures the tight sealing of pipes carrying common gases including air, oxygen, nitrogen, ammonia, butane, chlorine, hydrogen, and liquids such as water and various fuels.

This tape is made from polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), which offers excellent resistance to cracking and is impermeable to pressure up to 20 bar. It is non-adhesive and performs a lubricating function, complying with the 2009/142/EC Gas Appliance Directive. It satisfies BGC IM/16 and meets the BS EN-751-3:1997 standard, superseding earlier BS standards BS6974 and BS2292.
