Description

The Polyethylene Damp Proof Course (DPC) is a flexible sheet membrane used to block rising damp in wall construction. Made from durable polyethylene, it provides a reliable moisture barrier within brick and block walls. The embossed surface improves mortar grip, helping create a secure bond across horizontal or vertical DPC installations.

The membrane is waterproof, rot-proof, and resistant to ground chemicals, making it suitable for domestic, commercial, and refurbishment projects. Its lightweight roll format is easy to handle on site and can be installed quickly within standard masonry layouts. The material supports long-term damp protection, helping prevent staining, plaster failure, and structural damage caused by moisture ingress.

This DPC is compliant with UK building regulations and widely used in cavity walls, internal partitions, external walls, wall junctions, and beam-and-block floor detailing. Once installed, it requires no maintenance and forms a permanent part of the building’s damp-protection system.

Installation Guide:

  • Prepare a clean, level mortar bed before laying the DPC
  • Position the membrane fully across the wall thickness
  • Overlap joints with adequate lap distance for continuity
  • Ensure the DPC is free from folds or creases
  • Protect the sheet from damage during bricklaying
  • Inspect alignment before continuing with the next course
