Perimeter Strip
Perimeter Strip is a flexible foam edging used to absorb screed expansion, isolate acoustic flooring, and maintain compliant perimeter separation in residential and commercial floor systems.
Description
Perimeter Strip is a resilient foam edging used around room boundaries to manage movement in screed and floating floor systems. It creates a compressible separation layer between the screed and surrounding walls, preventing rigid contact points that can lead to cracking, perimeter stress or forced expansion during curing and thermal changes.
Its lightweight, flexible structure conforms smoothly to corners, partition bases and service penetrations, maintaining consistent detailing across the entire room perimeter. By preserving a defined buffer between hard surfaces, the strip enhances acoustic performance by limiting structure-borne sound paths within floating floors and multi-layer acoustic builds.
Suitable for both residential and commercial projects, the strip integrates effectively with cementitious screeds, liquid screeds and acoustic assemblies, supporting long-term performance by enabling controlled expansion and preventing unwanted perimeter bridging.
Installation Guide:
- Prepare wall edges and floor perimeters so they are clean and debris-free before application
- Roll out the strip along the full room perimeter, keeping continuous contact against walls
- Fix with suitable adhesive or clips where necessary to prevent movement during screeding
- Press firmly into corners, recesses and around service penetrations to maintain a continuous buffer
- Trim excess material flush with the finished floor level once the screed has cured
