Description

The Celotex Cavity Wall Insulation Board is a rigid polyisocyanurate (PIR) panel faced with low emissivity foil on both sides to enhance thermal efficiency within cavity wall systems. This lightweight, durable board delivers exceptional insulation performance with a thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/m·K, helping reduce heat loss and improve U-values. Easy to handle and install, it provides a cost-effective and sustainable solution for new builds and refurbishments.

Coverage Area:

  • 50mm: 5.94 m²/ pack
  • 75mm: 4.32 m²/ pack
  • 100mm: 3.24 m²/ pack

Installation Guide:

  • Ensure wall cavities are clean, dry, and free from debris
  • Position insulation boards with foil facing towards the cavity air space
  • Secure between wall ties, maintaining required spacing and alignment
  • Fit closely but avoid compression to maintain thermal performance
  • Seal gaps at joints and edges using appropriate tape or sealant
  • Install outer leaf masonry as work progresses to protect insulation

U-Value of an Insulation Board:

The U-value of an insulation board tells you how well it stops heat from escaping through a wall, roof, or floor. In simple terms, the lower the U-value, the better the insulation. A low U-value means less heat loss, which helps keep your home warmer in winter and cooler in summer, while also lowering your energy bills.

For example, a wall with a U-value of 0.18 W/m²·K keeps heat in much better than one with a U-value of 0.35 W/m²·K. So, when comparing insulation boards, always look for the lowest U-value possible for the space you are insulating.
