Cavity Wall Brick Weep Vent
Cavity Wall Brick Weep Vent is a polypropylene drainage and ventilation outlet designed to release moisture and maintain airflow in cavity wall constructions.
Description
Cavity Wall Brick Weep Vent provides a controlled route for cavity moisture to escape while allowing airflow through the internal wall cavity. Its polypropylene body offers UV stability, weather resistance, and long-term durability in exposed masonry.
The slim louvred front face fits neatly within a standard brick mortar joint, creating a discreet appearance in finished brickwork. The vent supports drainage above lintels, cavity trays, and DPC layers, helping prevent damp, condensation, and moisture build-up within external walls.
Suitable for new-build and refurbishment projects, the vent integrates with cavity trays, damp-proof courses, and façade drainage systems. It maintains clear airflow while restricting insects and debris from entering the cavity.
Installation Guide:
Install directly above cavity trays, lintels, or DPC levels
Space vents at typical 450mm centres or as required by building regulations
Bed the vent into a mortar joint without blocking the outlet
Orient grille downward to promote drainage flow
Keep vents clear of mortar snots or debris during installation
Why are weep vents essential in a cavity wall?
Weep vents prevent hidden moisture from accumulating inside the cavity by giving water a safe exit point through the brick façade. They also support airflow to reduce condensation, mould risk, and long-term damage in masonry walls - making them essential for compliance with UK cavity wall drainage requirements.
